City Council Accomplishments
Here are a few of the many initiatives passed by the Raleigh City Council, under the leadership of Mayor Meeker:

Built two community centers; acquired and preserved hundreds of acres as park open space.

Passed a transportation bond issue to improve a dozen thoroughfares, including Falls of the Neuse Road.

Kept Raleigh’s tax rate the lowest of any large North Carolina city.

Reopened Fayetteville Street and constructed our state-of-the-art Convention Center.

Enhanced citizenship participation in zoning cases.
