On Tuesday, October 6th, Raleigh will elect a Mayor and City Council members. Through his four terms as Mayor, Charles Meeker has been a leader who gets the job done. Now is the time for decisions that will ensure that Raleigh is well-positioned as the economy turns around. And that all 170 neighborhoods in our City continue to be great places to live, work, and raise a family.
Mayor Meeker feels that, given the tough budget decisions being made, his experience on the City Council is an asset for Raleigh. In addition to his concern about our economic future, he plans to focus on these two important issues during his next term:
1. Transforming the 306 acres of the Dix Hill property into a destination park
2. Strengthening our region’s public transportation system.
