Parks and Greenway Bond Issue

The citizens of Raleigh have the opportunity to substantially expand Raleigh's parks and greenway systems. The $88 million bond issue will buy several hundred acres of parkland, build two community centers and increase the length of our award-winning greenway system by over 20 miles. A key piece of the greenway system is the new trail from Falls Lake Dam to the Johnston County line along the Neuse River.

Raleigh has as good a park system as any city in the country, and our greenways are better than any other city's system. With this year's bond issue, we can take the next steps to strengthen these outstanding public resources. I support the 2007 Parks and Greenway Bond Issue, and hope you will as well.
